I first purchased choreography 10+ years ago. My studio was exploding in growth, I was overseeing a large construction project on our new studio home, and I was chasing 3 and 4 year old daughters at home. By purchasing a kit dance I thought I was taking the easy way out, until recital time. I realized the students in my purchased choreography dances knew their routines much better! And I knew the kids much better! Instead of focusing on the steps in each class, I walked in with a concrete plan of what was proven to work. I could focus 100% on the kids and how they picked up the steps. Instead of stopping every few minutes to adjust my own choreography notes, I could focus on breaking down steps that were challenging to them. In short, I was a better teacher.

Like many dance teachers, I don’t need a full curriculum to follow. I just need a little help now and then when my plate is full. I don’t need videos to cram-learn and scribble notes right before walking in to teach. I need a printable format that I can hold while teaching. I need flexibility to choose a little or a lot of help depending on the season of life.

With nearly 30 years of teaching experience and 17 years as the owner of a thriving dance studio, I bring both artistic and business expertise to every conversation. I hold dual BAs from Hope College in Dance Performance & Choreography and Communications, blending creativity with strong organizational and leadership skills. My studio, located in a small Midwestern town, serves over 500 students and employs a team of 15 talented instructors and staff—proof that success isn’t limited to big cities or massive budgets. Through my coaching and resources, I love helping other dance educators and studio owners build sustainable, joyful, and well-run studios that reflect their unique vision.
